II. Entrance Exams for Students with Recommendations
 
I. Type A
For students in a general course at senior high schools
・A letter of recommendation from the principal is required.

・Requirements for application:
Students must designate the college as their first choice and submit a principal's letter of recommendation certifying that they qualify for admission based upon their academic record and profile.
(The students are expected to graduate from a senior high school in March 2011 or have graduated in March 2010.)



2. Type B
For students at professional courses ※1 at senior high schools, and integrated high schools or integrated courses
・A letter of recommendation from the Principal is required.

・Requirements for application:

Students must designate the college as their first choice and submit a principal's letter of recommendation certifying that they qualify for admission based upon their academic record and profile.
(The students are expected to graduate from a senior high school in March 2011 or have graduated in March 2010.)
1. Excellence in academic record and profile.
2. The possession of any certified and/or special qualifications that are related to the student's intended course or major.
3. An active commitment to volunteer projects, sports, and cultural and artistic events.
4. Demonstrated leadership as a member of the student council or a leader of a club activity.
※1 Professional courses refer to the courses, specified by the articles 5-2 and 6-2 of the laws regarding the Established Requirements for Japanese Senior High Schools, such as agriculture, gardening, machinery, electricity, architecture, commerce, clothing, food and nutrition, and other courses certified as eligible in terms of size, facilities and curricula to provide professional education.



3. Self-Recommendation
・Requirements for application:
Students must designate the college as their first choice and have a strong will, definite goals and broad interests for the study at the college. They must meet either of the following requirements:
1. Have graduated or are expected to graduate from a high school in March 2011.
2. Have passed the University Entrance Qualification Exams (DAIKEN) conducted by the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture.
Note: A letter of recommendation from the principal is not required but the student must submit a letter of self-recommendation.

III. General Entrance Exams
・Requirements for application:
Students who take this type of examination must meet either of the following requirements:
1. Have graduated or are expected to graduate from a senior high school in March 2011.
2. Have finished ordinary courses of a 12-year school education and are expected to graduate from these courses in March 2011.
3. Certified to have the equivalent academic capability of graduates from Japanese high schools or expected to get such certification by March 31, 2011. This requirement is based on Article 150 of the Operational Regulations of the School Education Law in Japan (Gakko Kyouikuho Shiko Kisoku) set forth in 1947 and applies to those who:
a.
Have finished a 12-year school education overseas or are pursuant to this requirement, and have been nominated by the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture.
b.
Have finished the specified course at Japanese education facilities overseas as certified by the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture with regard to a curriculum equivalent to that of a certified Japanese senior high school.
c.
Are nominated by the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture.
d.
Have passed the University Entrance Qualification Exams (DAIKEN) conducted by the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture, based on the Regulations of the University Entrance Qualification Exams set forth in 1951.
